Yeah, I thought the same thing. He doesn't look much different but his voice seems to have gotten deeper. Of course, he was always whining on "Eight Is Enough" so that could account for the higher voice :-) No, just kidding, I liked Merle.

I didn't get to see the Touched By An Angel with Brian and was wondering how big of a part he had on the episode. Also, does anyone know if they usually repeat that show when the season ends? I have been a Brian fan for a long time and didn't know he was going to be on.

He had a fairly big part. He played the father of one of the boys the story was about. I beleive it is still a first-time run so I think it will be aired again in the summer. If you're a fan of his, it will be fun for you to see what he looks like now. I noticed that he didn't have as much of a country accent as he did on "Eight Is Enough". I guess he exaggerated it a bit on EIE.

Thank you for the information regarding Brian's guest appearance. I did actually see him recently when he was on two episodes of Sunset Beach in Sept. I had read about it beforehand and was able to set my vcr for it. Now that I know he was on Touched By An Angel, I can try to catch the rerun. Again, I appreciate the info.

I wonder why he didn't reprise his role as Merle in yesterday's EIE movie. Of course, they didn't give the "fake" Merle much to say, I can't even remember if he had one line.

They even spelled his name wrong in the credits--at the end they said it was Meryl, not Merle. And I don't remember him having a line, though I think he was talking when they were moving stuff.
